Seattle Pride Hockey Association is looking to formulate one team to send to represent Seattle in Canada's largest LGBTQ+ multi-sport tournament, Western Cup.

Details:

1. Dates: Easter Weekend, April 7 & 8, 2023
2. Cost: Approximately $150CAD/player (approximately $115USD)
3. Jersey & socks: We will order custom SPHA jerseys & socks to don - approximately $70USD/player (you can keep them)
4. Location: Flames Community Arena
5. Payments: All players who are admitted to the team will pay all fees directly to Seattle Pride Hockey Association and we will submit payments and order jerseys/socks on your behalf.
6. Acceptance: Please note that not every person who expresses interest will be accepted. We will work with the tournament organizers to formulate a team that is fair and competitive to all other teams in the tournament. (That is to say, we can't accept all A level players - the skill must be spread).

Tournament Format:

• 6 - 8 teams (96 - 128 players)
• LGBTQ+ players from around the continent, including Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle and Toronto
• Semi round-robin style & playoffs
• Guarantee of four (4) games per team

Host Hotel:

• Hyatt Regency Calgary - discounted rate of $139CAD per night plus fees/taxes (this equals to approximately $103USD per night plus fees/taxes).

Airfare & transportation:

• You will want to fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC). Alaska Airlines offers free checked hockey bags (gear bag + stick bag).
• Transport to/from games: Hyatt Regency Calgary is roughly 10 minutes away from Flames Community Arena. We can explore renting a couple of passenger vans for $200/each (x2) for the weekend to provide transportation. This would equal about $30/player -- it would pay for itself in two trips versus using Lyft/Uber.
• Transport from/to airport: Since everyone may likely arrive at various times, you may need to procure your own transport (Lyft/Uber) from/to the airport, but if we several players arrive as a group, we can likely all ride together. We can coordinate those logistics closer to the date.
